Were there no sandals of flip-flops for them? Regardless, this minor detail is a mark of just how historically accurate Napoleon is. This reflects the chronic lack of footwearĪnd other basic supplies the Armee suffered from during the early years of the Revolution. I noticed that my unit of Revolutionary Infantry had no shoes on. Bare FeetĪmusingly, the most impressive things I've seen have no effect on the gameplay whatsoever.

Instead of just going over the general feel of the game, though, I'm going to go deep into some of the smaller things that impress and distress when plugging away at Napoleon. There were a few things locked off for the time being, but in general terms, we had a chance to look at every aspect of the game, except the naval combat. This is also the first time we've been able to get unfettered access to the game, with non-scripted battles and campaigns to get stuck into. While It Seems we've written more about Napoleon than any other game this year, that's an indication of just how much there is to be written about it We've finally been able to get our hands on full-on preview code and the results, while still obviously in prerelease format, are exciting.
